About Adoption
Families interested in adoption must first complete all required preparation and approvals before working with an adoption licensee.
Families begin the adoption process by working with an Ontario-licensed private adoption practitioner who supports them to become adopt-ready. A list of licensed adoption practitioners in Ontario can be found here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/adoption-practitioners.
Once adopt-ready, families may apply to register with me to be considered when a parent planning adoption for their child shares the qualities they are seeking in an adoptive family.
Registration is considered following a review of materials and an onboarding meeting. If registration moves forward, it includes inclusion in my registry of adopt-ready families.
Registration allows a family to be considered for potential matching opportunities only and does not guarantee registration, a match, or a placement. All matching decisions are made by the parent planning adoption for their child.
